i would like one of these, please. you can fold it up into a couch or curl it up into a blanket or a combination.

i've decided to sell the inmotion im3's. (probably on ebay, unless anyone reading this wants them.)
the main reason i bought them vs. other speakers was because i wanted to use the ipod as an alarm clock. but i ended up not using that often. i thought the slot that would automatically charge the ipod while it was playing was really cool, and aesthetically it looked rad... but then i glued a case on, so it no longer fits in the slot.
i also thought i might take the ipod speakers somewhere outside... in the summer, i go to parks/beaches somewhat often, and i wanted to play flirtatious music to aid in the seduction process. but in practice, whenever i bring someone else to the park with me i end up talking continuously. and if there is music at all it's more likely to be my own singing.
so now i'm looking at small speakers which aren't portable. i've listened to the creatures, and they are cheap but sound decent. these crazy jellyfish ones remind me of metroid.

supposedly pisces are ruled by the feet. i could use that as an explanation for being a figure skater, or for being obsessed with dancing... but instead i use it in an attempt to justify my terrible addiction to shoes. i tried to fight it for a long time 'cause it's so stereotypically feminine, but it was no use.

xlr8r had a mention of zelle, who makes jewelry for ladies & gents out of MIDI cable, processors, cat5, resistors, fanguards, diodes, diskettes, and various other things. pretty sweet.
she also sells the "electronic musician's emergency adaptors" kit.

cable yo-yo is a cute organizer for small cords (cellphone, mp3 player, digital camera) which you can either attach to the back of your machine or the wall, or carry loose.
* vectrix electric scooters = very interesting. it can handle continued high speeds for freeway commuting.
* i listened to eluvium's new album today and found it quite beautiful. it's ambient & piano-y, but unlike a lot of albums in that vein, it's not at all generic or easily forgotten.

i had an appointment w/jenny at vain for what was going to be a ridiculously expensive hair project.. waist length extensions with rainbow colors interspersed. however, i ran into a snafu.. the stupid hair company said that for first-time customers, they could only ship packages to the credit card billing address. i explained that i wasn't home to receive packages at that address during the day. they said it was company policy and they couldn't ship anywhere else. wtf?
so i reconsidered and decided that i really didn't need to spend that much on my hair anyway. so instead i'm getting these bookshelves that i've been eyeing for months. they last longer.
being raised by an environmental engineer and a social worker surely had an impact on my consumption. i'm quite fond of the recycline toothbrushes and disposable razors. they give you a postage-paid envelope and when you're done with the toothbrush/razor, you throw them in the envelope and mail them back and they turn them into park benches. they also have a subscription program where you can automatically be mailed a fresh toothbrush/razor/razor blades every x number of months.
locally they have 'em at trader joe's and whole foods, but you can of course get them online as well.

they added a tiny ipod too! man i'm out of it.
the mac mini definitely makes me want to become an apple owner.
this ipod cassette adapter also rocks.

i named my new ipod thaumaturgy. her blue screen protector glows quite brightly. earlier i drank a lot of sake. morrissey is wailing in the caphill internet cafe and i am not in the mood for him. but i really liked the joseph arthur cover of 'there is a light that never goes out' i heard this morning.

i need a new hard drive. 10gb in the desktop is not cutting it. i fell in love with this 250gb external drive. i justified it because if i ever actually do perform music via laptop, i'll need more storage space. but, as usual, the aesthetic appeal won me over. pretty glowing lights! i like to think they'd come in handy during a live performance. |
soy milk makers, too! this site claims it costs ~10 cents/quart to make your own vs. $3-4 for a quart of pre-packaged soymilk. interesting. anyone have one of these? i'm unsure why this never occurred to me as an option.
i've spent too much money over the years at gravity bar. it's time to get my own damn juicer. i have a food processor, but it's my mom's from the 80's. it's hard to use, hard to clean, and pulp-filled. i also have a $15 blender from fred meyer which is utter crap.
it must take wheatgrass and vegetables and fruit and reduce them to glory. it must be easy and quick to clean. i turn to you, juicing experts.

i went to sureshot to take advantage of the free wifi and discovered the phenomenon of white coffee. they advertised it as tasting "nutty", having more caffeine than traditional coffee and being easier on the stomach. the ground beans resembled crumbled peanuts in color.
it's quite good. i *would* have to start liking a kind of coffee which requires a special grinder, is rare, and is probably more expensive. i couldn't confirm how much it actually costs because a quick google search turned up nothing and i'm theoretically supposed to be working.

the powerpizza disguises your laptop in a pizza box. although i don't really like the tom bihn bags, i do appreciate the fact that the product tags on them say in french 'we are sorry that our president is an idiot. we didn't vote for him.' the lapdog starts out as a backpack but unfolds into a desk. t1 bag is cute, but looks more like a normal backpack to me. the blackbox is firm and sexy but doesn't come in 12'.
jizosh posted these cute laptop bags but they're pretty pricy. any other good sites out there for a cool-looking 12' bag?
i have a small, ridiculous collection of dj-related paraphenelia. this week i added blaine, a male barbie-related doll which was produced in small quantities. the ebay description says: "He will arrive to you COMPLETE with all his FANTASTIC accessories: DJ turntable with headphones, sunglasses, necklace cellphone, record case + 4 records in their sleeves, Barbie-size records, pants, shirt, jacket, backstage pass with star charm and an extra shirt."
